GWO Figures Confirm AIS Training is UK’s Largest Wind Trainer Again

The Global Wind Organisation’s (GWO) Half Year Report confirms our sister company AIS Training’s position as the UK’s largest wind training provider in the first half of 2019.

This latest report shows a continued upward trend in the number of people training for the wind sector with a rise of 26% on the same period last year, reflecting continued growth in the renewables industry. The figures also reveal that 1 in 5 of the UK’s wind trainees are now being trained at AIS Training’s state-of-the-art wind training centre in Newcastle.

Gavin Taylor, Commercial Sales Director for AIS Training and Survivex, part of the 3T Energy Group, said:

“We are delighted to see AIS Training maintain its position as the UK’s number one wind training provider in this latest GWO report with nearly one in every two people choosing us to gain GWO Basic Safety Training qualifications.

“As major wind projects such as Beatrice and Dogger Bank come on-stream, the provision of highly skilled, competent personnel becomes increasingly important and we are committed to delivering world-class wind industry training to meet sector demands.

“In the first half of 2019, we trained almost 4,500 people on GWO courses such as mandatory basic safety training and more specialist wind skills such as enhanced first aid, advanced rescue and basic technical training (BTT). In addition to our wind course figures, we have delivered global onsite training for many of our Renewables clients, which takes place onshore and offshore worldwide".
