Marathon Oil Students Visit Survivex for Offshore Training Taster

We were delighted to host a group of students from Marathon Oil in Aberdeen at the training centre last week.

The students were given a variety of practical training sessions to complete including Confined Space Entry with Breathing Apparatus, Fire Fighting and dry Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) practice. This kind of 'taster' training is designed to give future oil & gas workers a better idea of what to expect should they decide to embark on a career offshore.

Our Survival department put on a bit of a show, demonstrating our impressive environmental effects simulator complete with wind, waves, rain, thunder and lightening - giving the students an idea of the kind of harsh conditions that could be encountered in the North Sea.

"The students had a fab time! They will have definitely learnt something new."

- HR Coordinator, Marathon Oil
