Meet Survivex's new instructor Andy Worthy

Andy Worthy specialises in GWO training and ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI) training at Survivex.

Recently transferred from sister company, AIS Training’s centre in Newcastle, Andy is thrilled to be delving into the thriving wind industry as an instructor in Aberdeen.

Having always had an interest in training, he naturally progressed to becoming an instructor and hasn’t looked back since. Always on-hand to help however he can and answer any questions that come his way, he is keen to use his own offshore experience to ensure delegates get the most out of their training.

He said:I’ve been on the other side of things and getting trained up myself for offshore work, so I know exactly what the delegates are after and aim to help them as much as possible. I’ve been an instructor for over two years now and every single day brings something different. The best part for me is getting to know our delegates and watching their confidence truly grow as the course progresses.

“There’s lots of excitement in Aberdeen at the moment about the wind industry, so I’m seeing lots of eager and excited delegates of all ages and abilities come through the door who are keen to get their wind career’s started.

“I’m feeling great about joining the Survivex team. They are all friendly and have made me feel very welcome. The whole team is passionate about their jobs and take pride in making the training experience the best that it can be for our delegates.
