The following is an important update pertaining to the OPITO UK BOSIET, UK FOET & UK HUET standards...
There has been a growing demand for CA-EBS training globally. This demand means that there is now a requirement for CA-EBS training on an international scale, and not only within the UK. Various multinational operating companies have an aim to introduce CA-EBS on their flights globally and require a standard which can be readily recognised from a global perspective.
As a result, the UK reference from the formally known UK BOSIET / FOET / HUET (with CA-EBS) has been removed. The standard will be known as the BOSIET / FOET / HUET (with CA-EBS) from Monday, June 20th 2016.
The updated Standard title does not affect the standard content and there are no further changes to report. OPITO have updated the FAQ documents online to reflect the title change and these can be accessed on the OPITO website. This change does not affect delegates who have undertaken training with the previous title name – their certification will remain valid until the expiry date stated.
This update will ensure consistency of training on a much wider level and supports OPITO’s aim to build global standards to support the oil and gas industry.

Summary
In short, this is currently a name change only and the existing OPITO training content for the (UK) BOSIET, FOET & HUET remain unaltered.
No further action is required from our customers at this time, and we will continue to provide you with further updates as we amend our internal systems and move forward with these changes.
