Shell 'Girls in Energy' Programme Visit the Survivex Training Centre

Today Survivex were delighted to once again play host to the Shell 'Girls in Energy' at our Aberdeen based training centre.

Shell ‘Girls in Energy’ is a programme for young women aged 14-16 designed to challenge preconceptions and open their eyes to the wealth of career opportunities that exist within the energy industry.

The girls (and boys!) from Shell were given a run-through of the types of training that they could be required to undertake should they choose to pursue a career in the energy industries. Our Offshore Survival, Firefighting and Industrial Skills departments all pitched in to demonstrate the full spectrum of training that make the UKCS one of the safest oil producing regions in the world.

Through live demonstrations and practical participation we aim to give the next generation of North Sea workforce the most realistic experience possible, in a safe and controlled environment. By taking part in these practical training exercises the girls can prove to themselves, and to others, that they are more than capable of succeeding in the energy arena.
