AIS Survivex grows construction portfolio with ECITB Small Bore Tubing training for installers

Leading training provider, AIS Survivex has strengthened its engineering and construction offering with the addition of the ECITB SBT 02 Assemble and Install Small Bore Tubing with Cone & Threaded Medium and High-Pressure Module course.

Following approval from The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) in early 2023, SBT 02 has been running weekly at AIS Survivex in Aberdeen and is now available at its Newcastle training centre.

Aimed at those responsible for the installation and assembly of cone and threaded connections, the course is the next level of progression for technicians who have completed the SBT 01 qualification.

Small bore tubing failures are widely reported as one of the biggest causes of hydrocarbon releases in the oil and gas industry so training in the correct assembly and installation of small tubing systems is critical.

AIS Survivex is the UK’s largest provider of ECITB programmes and has invested heavily in its facilities, personnel and equipment to closely mirror working engineering construction environments. The company develops realistic, practical scenarios which exceed standards and build competency.

Emma Howorth, General Manager at AIS Survivex Newcastle said:

“We are delighted to be able to complement our existing SBT course offering with this next level ECITB-approved qualification. This allows companies to access small bore tubing training and assessments aimed at various levels of experience all under the one roof – bringing more choice and convenience to our customers.

We expect demand for this course will be high so we’ve scheduled in lots of dates and will be running it at both our Newcastle and Aberdeen sites going forward.”
