Energy recruitment specialist, Advance Global Recruitment (AGR) has signed a unique three-year training management service contract with AIS Survivex to create a new approach to the supply of energy industry personnel.
This approach involves identifying and matching personnel for industry roles then delivering targeted training for a complete recruitment solution, which benefits both energy employers and individuals.
AGR has established a new training and competency division in close collaboration with AIS Survivex, which includes the use of a Training Management System (TMS) developed by AIS Survivex’s sister technology company, 3t Transform. This sophisticated system enables users to book courses at the click of a button and remain compliant with skills and competencies.
As part of the agreement, AIS Survivex will provide all UK training and competency delivery for AGR’s new division, as well as helping identify and manage training globally via industry-recognised training partners.
Many workers have left the oil and gas industry following the Covid pandemic, leaving the sector facing considerable resourcing issues as activity now ramps up. This new agreement addresses the issue head on to ensure a steady stream of fully compliant, skilled, safety-conscious personnel are available to employers as and when they need them.
Danielle Wood, Global Compliance Director from AGR said:
“We are delighted to work with AIS Survivex on this highly innovative agreement between a training provider and recruitment consultant.
“As a global operation working in 70 countries around the world, we needed a new approach to the supply of talent to the industry. Finding more than a hundred skilled personnel immediately for a rig coming into operation is no longer possible. However, there are many candidates new to the industry who are looking to secure their first start. By teaming up with the energy sector’s leading training provider, AIS Survivex, we can assure employers that these individuals are trained to the highest standards, with a strong safety-first mentality, and able to mobilise quickly when needed.
“Both AGR and AIS Survivex share the same ethos for quality and innovation so this agreement is a natural fit. AGR has taken time to understand the industry through memberships of organisations like OEUK and Step-Change in Safety and this knowledge has helped us to identify what is needed leading to the launch of our new training and competency division.”
Chris Bews, Head of Sales from AIS Survivex said:
“Combining essential energy sector skills training with direct recruitment is a new approach which helps employers find perfectly matched personnel with the right skillset and boosts employability for individuals.
“Existing clients will benefit from the combined expertise of two best-in-class organisations for a complete training and personnel supply solution. As activity in the oil and gas sector begins to increase, this new partnership will tackle skills shortages and ensure the industry has highly skilled, competent workers to deliver projects safely and efficiently.”
Global engineering firm, Sparrows has endorsed the new agreement.
Angela Birnie, Global Head of Training, Competence, and Technical Resources at Sparrows, said:
“AGR understand industry training and competency expectations and are using innovative ways to achieve them. Not only is AGR focusing on what the industry needs now, they have a clear strategy to ensure sustainability throughout the energy transition and are educating those entering the industry on their transferrable skills. We are proud to be able to support AGR through this process.”
