‘Best nine’ for training – 2022 in pictures

 
 

It’s hard to put just how special last year was for AIS Survivex into words, so we’ve rounded up our ‘best nine’ images to do the talking for us…

From world-firsts, award wins, new training locations to new service lines – just some of our exciting 2022 achievements.

We’re always looking forward to see how we can better support the global energy sector, but sometimes it’s nice to look back and celebrate too.

 

2022 Training Timeline

Wow, what a year. Looking back on some incredible milestones…

January

Started 2022 with a bang with our #NewYearNewCareer campaign to help people find new inspiring careers. Kicking off our annual careers programme with our biggest careers event yet featuring an impressive 16 employers supporting the 2-day event.

Immersion in Tortue – January also saw the debut of our bespoke bp Greater Tortue Ahmeyim induction programme, featuring VR and digital twin technology furnished by our sister company 3t Transform.

February

Launched our monthly ‘golden ticket’ draw – giving delegates the chance to win back the full cost of their training. An overwhelming success with over £10,000 refunded so far...

March

Celebrating apprenticeship week with our first Scottish apprentice Mani Fatemi, who has gone on to secure a full-time job with us.

April

AIS Survivex becomes the first to deliver ELCAS-approved ‘Military to Wind’ training programme designed to transition ex-military personnel into new energy careers.

May

Winner, winner… AIS Survivex wins the North East Business Awards for Tyne & Wear in the Technology and Innovation category. 

June

Opened our new IWCF Drilling Well Control Academy in Newcastle – the only UK centre offering regularly scheduled IWCF-approved Drilling Well Control training outside of Aberdeen.

July

Achieved a world-first after investing close to £1m in the very latest OPITO-approved lifeboat simulator technology to increase marine safety and boost coxswains’ competency.

'On Course to the Open' saw us support a group of wounded, injured and sick armed forces veterans walk, run, cycle, swim and canoe an incredible 1,500 km across the UK to the Golf Open at St Andrews, to raise funds for military rehabilitation charity. Learn more >> 

August

Launched our first ever photography competition: #pictureperfectworkplace, celebrating and showcasing working life in the energy sector.

The competition attracted hundreds of stunning, jaw-dropping images achieving international coverage and acclaim.

September

Formed a new collaboration with Vital Fire Solutions (VFS), the trading arm of County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS), to develop an emergency firefighting training centre for offshore workers in the County Durham & Teesside area.

October

AIS Survivex becomes the first training provider in the UK to receive GWO approval for its Control of Hazardous Energies (CoHE) course, after being involved in shaping the standard.

Commended in the Renewable UK Global Offshore Wind Awards and also a finalist in the OEUK Awards for Supply Chain Company of the Year.

November

UCT joins the 3t family – seven-figure deal sees utilities & construction training, as well as locations in the North West, South of England and central belt Scotland, added to the AIS Survivex offering.

Praised by Equinor, the operator of the world’s largest wind farm, for our proactive approach in helping local suppliers identify and upskill workers for its Dogger Bank project, which is expected to deliver first power in 2023.

December

Our final careers event of the year – this time AIS Survivex take Global Wind Service (GWS) ‘on tour’ to find the very best technicians from our delegate talent pool in Newcastle and Manchester.
