Time is the critical factor in escalation prevention and determining a safe and successful outcome of an emergency situation. Emergency management teams need to be ready and able to maintain control, manage communication and deal with stress during emergencies. The OPITO Major Emergency Management Initial Response (MEMIR) training will prepare teams to have the skills and knowledge required to manage real-life emergencies.
The training centre, based in Aberdeen has seen the installation of a purpose-built dedicated command centre simulator which allows delegates to experience real-life major emergencies. The simulator along with the expertly delivered training will equip personnel with the essential command, control and communication skills to deal with any stress-related factors faced during a major emergency.
When asked on why Survivex have added MEMIR training to their course offerings, Andrew Green, Survivex CEO said, “As an offshore safety training provider, our aim is to provide the industry with a wide spectrum of specialised, expertly delivered training courses at our purpose built training centre in Aberdeen.”
“We already offer a large number of OPITO training courses at our centre including the OPITO Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) and the OPITO Offshore Emergency Response Team Member (OERTM) to name a couple.”
