‘Best careers events yet’ - hundreds attend AIS Survivex Recruitment Days

More than 600 aspiring and experienced energy workers turned up to last week’s Careers Events in Aberdeen and Newcastle making them our most successful to date.

Some of the energy sector’s biggest recruiters attended the events from the oil and gas, wind and marine sectors including Wood, Stork, Bilfinger UK, Boston Energy, GEV Wind Energy, Muehlhan Wind, AGR and Atlas Professionals and all with a variety of positions to fill.

All companies reported a fantastic response and noted the calibre of candidates looking to apply for their next opportunity was extremely high.

Danielle Wood, Global Compliance Director at Advance Global Recruitment said:

“The recent AIS Survivex careers events have been extremely successful for us. There was a lot of interest in our stand over the two days, speaking to more than 500 people.

“The global energy sector continues to gather pace in 2023, with all of our clients requiring competent personnel for upcoming projects. We’ve gathered some extremely strong CVs from AIS Survivex delegates and I’ve no doubt we have the ability to place many of the individuals we met with positions in the global energy sector.”

Emma Duncan, Senior Ops Recruitment Co-Ordinator at Stork, said:

“Stork has a lot of ad hoc seasonal work in the pipeline and there is a requirement for fabric maintenance experienced personnel with skills such as insulation, scaffolding, rigging etc.

“The AIS Survivex Careers Event is a great place to raise awareness of opportunities within our business and we’ve spoken to lots of really good people. As well as looking for potential personnel, Stork is also here to launch our new app for hunting and applying for jobs, which is available through the app store. It is really easy to use – you just need to register to see our available opportunities and then apply directly through the app.

“This has been a really successful event for us and I’m sure some of the people we’ve met will secure a job with us.”

Max Alexander, Constriction and Planning Engineer at Global E&C said:

“Our business recruits for construction-type so called ‘black trades’ such as riggers, platers, pipefitters and welders for the offshore oil and gas sector.

“With Shutdown Season looming, we’ve got lots of additional work on top of our usual recruiting requirements so meeting people face-to-face is a great way to source potential talent. We attended the AIS Survivex Aberdeen event and were never off our feet the entire time speaking to potential candidates. Fantastic event – well done to all involved!”
