What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy running and exploring in the great outdoors. As a nurse, keeping fit and healthy is very important to me.
Give us a quick run-through of your average working day…
My morning:
I usually arrive at the centre around 7am in time to start my first appointment at 7.30am. My mornings are always varied and can consist of the following tasks:
- Carrying out offshore medicals
- Vaccinations for foreign travel
- Drug & alcohol screening on delegates
All medical services can be booked while on course at Survivex, or as a stand-alone appointment at your convenience, allowing delegates the opportunity to get everything done “under the same roof”.
My lunchtime:
Lunchtime is a very busy time at the medical suite as we often see delegates that are on course to complete their medicals. My lunch is usually at 1’ o clock and I like to enjoy my lunch in the canteen as it is a good chance to socialise with everyone and there is always something good on the menu.
My afternoon:
My afternoon schedule usually consists of further offshore medical appointments. It can be a mixture of external appointments and also delegates who have been on course. The afternoons are always busy and they make the day go by very quickly.
What do you find most rewarding about your job?
As Survivex is well established locally and globally it means I get the opportunity to meet people who live in the next town or who come from thousands of miles away. Every single day is different in the medical suite which means I am never bored!
