Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2023: Meet the Apprentice

From apprentice to account management star – meet Mani Fatemi

We’re celebrating Scottish Apprenticeship Week by highlighting the fantastic achievements of our own apprentice superstar – 19-year-old Mani Fatemi.

Mani Fatemi joined AIS Survivex last year on a six-month work placement as part of his Foundation Apprenticeship in Business Management. Showing amazing dedication and talent during this time, Mani was offered a Modern Apprenticeship with AIS Survivex, going on to scoop a full-time job as account manager in January 2023 looking after some of the company’s biggest clients.

As a world leading training organisation, we are passionate about encouraging apprenticeships and provide a supportive business environment where young people can thrive. Mani was given the opportunity to experience all the different departments within AIS Survivex from admin to instructing, allowing him to get a full flavour of the kind of careers available.

Apprenticeships also give companies the opportunity to see if an apprentice is right for them. Mani clearly was! Rising quickly through the ranks, he landed his account manager role just 14 months after joining AIS Survivex. In this role Mani supports the business development team, dealing with client bookings and queries.

Mani said:

"In my final year of school many of my friends were thinking about university but I knew higher education wasn't for me. I decided to opt for a Foundation Apprenticeship in Business Studies to give me a general overview of business and hopefully inform my future career decisions.

“It was a fantastic decision. After completing my Modern Apprenticeship with AIS Survivex, I’ve now secured a full-time role with the company, which I love.

“My confidence has grown massively since I first started here. I used to be nervous answering the phones - now I speak professionally to clients every day, helping them out with their queries. In fact, this is one of the things I like most about my job!

“Anyone who’s not sure about what they want to do career-wise, should think about apprenticeships. They help you experience an alternative to further education and get real skills on your CV. It certainly worked for me! I’m so grateful to AIS Survivex for giving me this opportunity and for all the help and support.”
