Shell 'Girls in Energy' Visit Survivex

Last week Survivex were delighted to once again welcome Shell 'Girls in Energy' to the training centre.

Shell ‘Girls in Energy’ is a programme initially created for young women aged 14-16, designed to introduce them to the breadth of career opportunities that exist within the energy industry.

Training for the Future...

The girls (and boys!) from Shell were given a run-through of the various types of training that they will likely be required to undertake should they choose to pursue a career in the energy industries. Our Offshore Survival, Firefighting and Industrial Skills departments all pitched in to demonstrate the full spectrum of training that make the UKCS one of the safest oil producing regions in the world.

Through live demonstrations and practical participation we aim to give the next generation of North Sea workforce the most realistic experience possible, in a safe and controlled environment. By taking part in these practical training exercises these youths can prove to themselves, and to others, that they are more than capable of succeeding in the energy arena.
