Survivex achieves IWCF approval for well intervention training

Survivex has received approval from the International Well Control Forum (IWCF) to run well intervention courses.

Well intervention is essential training for those working in critical well intervention positions and Survivex has been approved to offer the IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control (WIPC) courses Levels 3 and 4. These courses provide a practical and theoretical understanding of live well pressure control covering subjects such as wireline, coiled tubing, snubbing procedures and completion operations.

These latest accreditations add to Survivex’s existing well control training portfolio, which includes IWCF Drilling Well Control Levels 3 and 4 courses for both on and offshore.

Survivex, which is part of the 3t Energy Group, launched its Well Control Training Centre of Excellence last year. The facility features the very latest simulator technology, digital systems and software to offer delegates an unrivalled training experience.

Survivex general manager, Jamie Purves, said:We are delighted to receive this highly coveted IWCF approval for well intervention training. Since opening our Well Control Training Centre of Excellence we have received fantastic feedback for the quality of our drilling well control courses.

Well intervention goes hand-in-hand with drilling well control so it’s great to be now able to provide the full complement of industry-approved training for our clients. The first IWCF Well Intervention courses are running this week and will be available twice-monthly depending on demand.”
